The Split Payments feature allows you to automatically divide and route incoming funds from a single transaction into multiple destination bank accounts. Instead of manually transferring payouts after receiving a payment, our system automatically calculates and distributes the exact shares to each specified account in real time based on your defined split rules.
How to set up Split Payments
There are two ways to configure Split Payments:
- Dashboard
Create a split rule from the Kora Dashboard and reuse it across multiple transactions by referencing the saved rule. This is recommended if your payment distribution remains consistent across transactions.
- API
Define the split configuration when initiating each payment through the API.
This option is best for businesses where the recipients or split amounts vary from one transaction to another.
You must choose either the Dashboard or API approach for a transaction. The two methods cannot be used simultaneously.
What is the settlement timeline?
Split Payments follow Kora's standard settlement timeline. Each recipient receives their settlement according to the settlement schedule for the supported currency. If a payout cannot be completed, the funds are credited to the Kora wallet, where manual withdrawal can be completed.
What is the fees structure for Split Payments?
Split Payments are charged per payout, using Kora's standard payout fee. For example, if a payment is split between three recipients, each recipient payout incurs the applicable payout fee. Fees are not charged on the total payment amount; they apply only to the individual payouts generated by the split.
Can I edit a split rule after creating it?
Yes. You can update your split rules from the Kora Dashboard at any time. Any changes will apply to future transactions that use the updated rule. Transactions that have already been processed are not affected.
Can I temporarily stop using Split Payments?
Yes. You can stop using Split Payments by removing the split configuration from your payment flow or by choosing not to reference a split rule for new transactions. Payments processed without a split will be settled into your default settlement destination.
Where can I see my split payment history?
Each split payout is tracked individually on the Kora Dashboard, allowing you to monitor successful payouts and identify any that require manual action.
How can my business get access to Split Payments on Kora?
Split Payments is available upon request. To request access, contact your Account Manager or send an email to support@korapay.com.
