Pay with Bank is a payment option on the Kora Checkout page where customers are able to make deposits directly from their bank apps.

How does it work?

The Pay with Bank method of making payments is a bit different from paying using the bank transfer method.

  1. The checkout is initiated and the customer selects ‘Pay with Bank' and a record is created on the dashboard.

  2. The customer then clicks on ‘select a bank'. Once that is done, the customer will see a drop-down showing the list of banks.

  3. Once the customer selects his/her bank, he/she will be directed to input his or her phone number, followed by a PayID or token generated, depending on the bank's process.

  4. Upon inputting the required information, the customer clicks on 'authorize', to complete payment.

  5. Once the payment is successfully made and we‘re notified of such payment, the merchant is notified via email and webhook.

  6. The merchant is instantly settled for the transaction.

Here's a video on how your customers can make payments to you using the Pay With Bank payment method:

What currencies does this payment method support?

Pay with Bank currently supports only Naira, as payments are being made from a Nigerian Bank Account.

What Banks does this payment method support?
The Pay with Bank method currently supports Kuda Microfinance Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) and United Bank for Africa (UBA).

More banks would be available soon.

What if I get an error on the checkout page and I am unable to complete payment using this method?

If you encounter an error while trying to authorize payment, please confirm that the phone number and PayID/OTP provided are correct, before reattempting the transaction.

What happens if my customer makes the payment of the wrong amount?

Unlike the Bank Transfer method, the Pay with Bank method does not allow customers to make overpayments or underpayments. This is because the amount displayed on the checkout page is what will be deducted directly from the customer's bank account.

Where customers do not have up to the amount stated on the checkout page, authorization of the transaction will not be successful.
